How do we measure the impact of social media?

How do we measure the impact of social media?
it's my believe that By this time there aren't much people who doubt the power of social media because it has influenced politics , civil activism and organization outcome, yet  there may be some question about how social media work best to coordinate in the ground work, how  social media are helpful to keep partners, allies gatekeepers in tact  in order to reach one desire change as quick as possible , and how one promote its agenda best from top to bottom. Above all,  how do we measure social media   out-come ? Social media is a great tool to fight structural  and institutional discrimination effectively. But, the question is  how effective is that effective ? I don't think there is simple answer for that now. However, it could be even great, if we are able to synthesized partners, allies and gatekeeper with social media tools. And yet again, there's always this question that we have to ask ourselves: how do we know social media is working  effectively and how do we evaluate it? Although I don't have an answer for this lingering questions, I would like to simply take what  we have talked in class last week, we can  measure  social media and its impact by its association, liked, and before and after effect.

  1. I agree that, unlike things that can be measured financially, it can be hard to realize just how affective social media is, and especially when it is not promoting any physical product. But even more so than the number of "fans" an account has is the amount of content they bring. It takes a second and almost no thought to click on the "become a fan" or "follow" button, so it shows a lot more when fans or followers actually write to or about those accounts. And to encourage that a lot more, the social media managers should be regularly writing on their accounts first.
