Im bringing this up because I think that typically everyone thinks that beauty always wins over brains, and in this circumstance it took both the win the competition. Miss Utah was a finalist from the beginning, from the minute she walked on stage she stood out from the rest. She was even crowned Miss Photogenic and made it to the top 5 easily. Then came the final question, and lets just say, I dont even think she knew what she was saying.
Up until this point I thought for sure that she would be top 3, and then this happened, and I wondered how she made it this far. I was shocked when the judges also agreed and placed her at 3rd runner up, It was nice to see that they actually were taking the answers to their questions seriously. I think that it's great that the Miss USA organization is looking from a woman how isn't only pretty, but is also smart (or at least can stand in front of a crowd and answer a simple question). Congrats to Miss Connecticut, she will spend her time as the 2013 Miss USA advocating for breast and ovarian cancer.
I think that it is great that there trying to find smart and beautiful women to compete in this competition. Honestly, though what is the point of questions like that is it actually judging on the answer to the question or is it see how they can answer on the fly?
